About

Jacob Herold is a multi-instrumental musician who works as a sideman, bandleader, and music educator in Colorado.


An alumnus of Berklee College of Music, the University of Colorado-Boulder, and the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (CCJA), he has reinvested his education into mentoring young musicians in Colorado, through a private lesson studio and in organizations like CCJA, the Colorado Springs Conservatory, and Flatirons Academy.


As a performer, Jacob has over two decades of experience on the Front Range, performing with musicians like Ron Miles, Eric Gunnison, Jeff Jenkins, Paul Romaine, Ken Walker, Annie Booth, and the Boulder Laptop Orkestra. He has appeared on cruise lines and in festivals such as the Telluride Jazz Celebration, Vail Jazz, and Denver’s Underground Music Series.


He has written and arranged pieces for ensembles ranging from trios to 10-piece bands, and has received recognition for compositions by Denver mainstay-band Convergence and by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and CU’s ATLAS Institute, where he held residency for multimedia production and performance.


Jacob continues to work on interdisciplinary art works, as well as the development of a folk jazz project.
